Description

A fine pair of WW2 German Kriegsmarine 7×50 binoculars manufactured by Ernst Leitz of Wetzlar.
The set is complete with a rare matching case also manufactured by Leitz.

The markings on this pair denote issue to the Kriegsmarine and are of a type that saw use aboard U-boats.
The optics remain clean and are fully functional. Both focal adjustments function properly, with good collimation.
The right hand ocular carries the Eagle and swastika marking with M (marine), issue number 33313 and N (North sea). The left hand ocular is marked 7×50 beh (Ernst Leitz), manufacturer number 384564 with (T) transparenz – coated lenses and KF (marine) kalterfest – cold resistant lubricant. The binoculars are complete with leather strap.

The hard to find matching case, is also manufactured by Leitz with beh maker code and 1944 date.
It is made from hardened leather, in very good condition. The front closing pull is present but has become detached and the strap has also broken away from one side. The lid of the case is also embossed with the M marine stamp with eagle and swastika.

A superb set.
