The German Cross was created in 1941 by Adolf Hitler as a recognition of bravery, not justifying the award of the Knight’s Cross, but superior to requirements for the Iron Cross 1st Class.
This example is manufactured by Godet. Exhibiting surface wear with a fine patina and some light damage to the the front. It has the typical six-rivets to the reverse and the heavy 21 makers mark.
